Disney On Ice Princesses and Heroes

Disney On Ice Princesses and Heroes

Enter a world of wonder where heroes and princesses prevail...

...take the kids to Disney On Ice - final shows on now!

What a wonderful afternoon my two daughters Brooke (7) and Samantha (5) and I just had at the Sydney Premiere of the Disney On Ice Princesses and Heroes Show!

The atmosphere was electric in the Allphones Arena at Sydney Olympic Park. The stadium was packed with little princesses and princes all craning their necks, not sure of what to expect with the empty expanse of ice-stage in front of them. All went dark except for low, eerie lighting and then "When You Wish Upon A Star" began to play, sending a little thrill up and down my spine.

Disney On Ice Tinkerbell
Tinkerbell was everyone's favourite at Disney On Ice!

I looked across at my two little girls faces filled with anticipation and then delight as the lights came up to reveal Tinkerbell in the flesh, spinning and jumping and sprinkling fairy dust with her wand - beautiful, magical and wondrous - Disney On Ice had begun, and the crowd went wild!

Disney On Ice is an absolute must for Disney Fans everywhere, and the show has travelled to most major centres in Australia with still some performances to come.

This is a huge-scale theatrical production that wows both children and their parents and carers. The skating is simply world-class, the costumes are glittery and gorgeous, the ice rink and set are huge and impressive and the special effects are whizz-bang jaw dropping at times - it's no wonder some of the adults seated near us were there without children, or had only brought tiny new babies - they just wanted to see the show!

There are numbers from all of the major Disney fairytales featured in the show, kicking off with Aladdin and his very cheeky Genie, Snow White with the absolutely adorable Seven Dwarves, Belle from Beauty and The Beast, The Frog Prince cast ice-dancing up a storm, Ariel and the many mermaids from the Little Mermaid, and of course Cinderella and her Prince with her simply gorgeous coach on ice!

Disney On Ice VIP Meet and Greet
My lucky girls meeting Dopey and Snow White at the VIP after-party!

Mickey and Minnie make regular guest-appearances along the way, and are joined by Goofy for good measure. There are a few big surprises but I don't want to give all the fun away just in case you are still to see the show.

It's all incredibly entertaining and exciting, and whilst the show itself is amazing, for me the best part was watching the reactions of my kids as they watched it - particularly when they first spotted their favourite Disney characters whizzing out onto the ice - Disney On Ice Princesses and Heroes really is magic - see it while you can!

What does it mean to be a single mum?Of course, the

are the most important thing in a single mum's life. Kids are the focus and always have been. But along with the children, there are other matters that can confuse a single mum's life.

plays a big part of a single mother's life, mainly because this is where a large percentage of single mums get their finances from. Centrelink are the source from where the

single mother pension

, or as it is otherwise known, the single parent payment comes from. The single mother pension is a subsistence amount, but just the same, it is money to live on, and so it is important, no matter if it is called single parent payment, single mother pension or whatever Centrelink welfare classes it at the time

Often, single mums come out of a

or defacto relationship only to find that their troubles have just begun, and find that their first step leads them towards Family Law - it's time to engage a lawyer.
There are more than just Centrelink finance problems to worry about, as mentioned before, but also

child custody

issues. Child custody is something that hits right at the heart of

single mums

. If a single mother's ex husband or ex partner has been a domestic violence perpetrator, the mum may be greatly worried about child custody. They worry that their kids won't be safe with their spouse, who has already proven to be abusive because they caused

domestic violence

, which resulted in a divorce or separation.

Even so,

Family Court

will often still order a form of child custody named

Shared Parenting

. Shared Parenting is a form of child custody division of time or parental responsibility between the parents. Mother's often look for a good divorce lawyer to try to avoid share parenting with an abusive ex-spouse after divorce, however in many cases Shared Parenting is still the outcome after the divorce, no matter how good the divorce lawyers have been. They will often settle for visitation at a contact centre or access centre where fathers or mothers are supervised during child custody access.
