We are pleased to announce our upcoming Vigil (against domestic violence – remembering children who have suffered or died as a consequence).
Our Vigil (in Sydney) coincides with the “Responding to Family Violence National Perspectives – Local Initiatives” conference and candle lighting ceremony in Canberra around this time whereby the Attorney General, Deputy Chief of Justice, Professor Chisholm and others will be presenting and contributing to discussions.
An excellent show of numbers at the vigil is imperative in order that we be taken seriously by the general public, the media, etc – particularly now as we anticipate the pending announcement of whether the 2006 amendments to the Family Law Act are to be rolled back or not. This may be our last chance to stand up!
So please, do all you can to be there. It is important that we make a stand now for your children, our Nation’s children, our children’s children and the next generations.
Venue: Bradfield Park, Milsons Point, Sydney. Saturday 8 May 2010. 4.30-6.30pm
