Australian Girl dolls review
SingleMum.com.au Toy Reviews | Australian Girl dolls | 20 November 2013
Are you looking for that one, perfect gift for a special child this Christmas? Or perhaps a stand-out birthday present?
An Australian Girl doll could be just the thing…
SingleMum.com.au was given the pleasure of test-running dolls from the Australian Girl Doll range this week…
From the moment you catch sight of the Australian Girl doll’s box, you realise that this gift is the one that
is going to get all the attention – a quality gift that any child would jump with delight to receive on a birthday, or tear the wrapping off on Christmas morning!
Australian Girl dolls are certainly not your mass-produced, out-of-proportion and poorly made toy.
From top to toe, these dolls are stand-out gorgeous – an impressive 50cms tall, they are predominantly made from vinyl, with limbs that swivel in their sockets. This makes them perfect for posing, and they will even stand on their own without falling over.
Their faces are beautifully detailed, and their hair is silky-soft and flowingly glorious – so lifelike and thick that it can be washed, brushed and styled just like real hair – and don’t the little girls love that!
Whilst there’s much for doll collectors to love about these dolls – they almost look too beautiful to touch – these are dolls that are certainly designed to be played with. Their soft middles invite cuddles, making them the perfect bed-time friend, and their thickly-lashed eyes close when they are lain down to ‘sleeep
Outfits to impress
Australian Girl dolls “arrive” dressed in super-cute outfits that are miniature versions of the real thing – stunning taffeta dresses, sleek swimsuits, denim skirts with matching ugg boots, glamour sandals and even Akubra-style hats – all with gorgeous detail right down to the snap-fastenings and buttons.
There’s an Australian Girl doll to suit every child’s taste. And of course, they wouldn’t be Australian girls without the obligatory pair of thongs – a set comes with every doll!
But the dress-up fun doesn’t stop there – Australian Girl dolls have a wide range of additional outfits and accessories available to meet the demand of their huge Aussie following, with Australian Girl doll independent clothes-makers springing up around the country.
The official Australia Girl doll range of outfits (including a popular sleepwear set and the flash new sports set, which can double for netball and tennis) and doll accessories can of course be found at the Australian Girl website here
