a listing of money-saving food outlets!
1. ADRA (Adventist Development & Relief Agency
Phone 3290-3011 – $5-$25 food parcels – open Mon-Thurs 9am-4pm, close 2pm Friday @ 31 Station Road, Woodridge – I worked here as a volunteer for several years & the food parcels are very generous & a good variety of fresh fruit & vegies they get from Rocklea markets every week – plus food donated from Sanitarium (health foods) Second Bite & food bank-plus bakery – also canned & packet foods.
2. Tribe of Judah
Phone 3290-3610-food parcel – $40 & small shop to buy food separately with fridge & freezers @ 16 Queens Road, Kingston.
3. Loaves & Fishes
30 Mary Street Kingston – $50 food parcel-contains just abound everything (must have pension card for this one.) But you can also purchase cheap/close to use by date from shop at back (size of large Titan shed)
4. Gospel Lighthouse
20 Duke Street Kingston – Phone 3808-2701 – Food available to buy separately.
5. Twin Rivers Food Co-Op (formerly Eagleby Community Assoc)
1/104 Riverhills Rd, Eagleby 4207 – Open every day except Sunday – just grab basket & help your self. l got 12 items under $10
6. Family & Kids Care Foundation
254 Jacaranda ave-Kingston, $50 food parcels only Phone3808-5288.
7. Battler’s Supermarket
12 Norah Street Crestmead – Phone 3200-4852.Mini Supermarket.
8. Lighthouse Calvary Care
13-15 Monte-Khuory Drive – Loganholme – Phone 3806-0639 – $25 food parcel to fill a trolley plus small shop to buy items separately.
When I used these places every single week I saved enough money to pay off my credit card & go overseas!
